Online Multimedia Training for SMEs
This E-Learning Platform includes training modules on Eco-Efficiency, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The platform will be regularly updated and expanded to provide technical reference documents and an interactive learning interface with a view to improving the sustainability of production processes for SMEs of the electrical and electronics industry of China.
In order to let professionals from different backgrounds quickly find the materials which fit their particular situation, the platform is designed modularly around the three concepts of Eco-Efficiency, Occupational Health and Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility. For each topic the platform offers video training modules, resources downloads such as information on standards and compliance guidelines as well as tools and exercises designed to provide a practical and user-friendly learning experience. Each section furthermore acts as a bridge for user interaction with more interactive features to be gradually added such as an open discussion forum.

SME Training Workshops, Zhongshan, Guangdong, April 2012
- With two further two-day training workshops in Zhongshan from 25 to 28 April 2012, the training activities in the Guangdong target region reached a new peak. The workshops were organized with the support of the South China Household Electric Appliances Research Institute and Guangdong Fuxin Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.
The agenda of the two workshops consisted of detailed presentations by project partners and experts on laws, regulations and standards affecting the electrical and electronics sector as well as targeted training on environmental strategy, product life cycle management and eco-design. SME Training Workshop, Qingdao, Shandong, March 2012
- With a view to further expanding the project’s training impact in the Bohai Basin, a two-day training workshop was conducted in Qingdao on 28th and 29th March 2012, with the support of the South China Household Electric Appliances Research Institute and Hisense Group.

Sino-German RoHS Symposium, Beijing, November 2011
- Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) supported the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and the China General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) to organize a symposium on RoHS in Beijing on 17 November 2011. The objective of the event was to improve the understanding of the EU directive and strengthen the compliance of electrical products manufactured in China.
The symposium offered a fruitful exchange between European and Chinese experts on the EU and China RoHS directives and their latest developments. Moreover, practical insights on RoHS implementation were provided by European manufacturers of electrical and electronics products. The presentations are available for download below.

National Launch Event, Beijing, September 2011
- The implemented project activities and events during the last two and a half years culminated in a one-day National Launch Event on September 2nd in Beijing.
The event consisted of detailed presentations by project partners and experts on key outputs and activities organized as well as updates on environmental standards and project cooperation with industry stakeholders and policy makers.
